I believe this Jack bull wasn't really for sale when I spied him in old Wes' pens, and I think he might have been in hiding, but I can't swear to that.  Still it's a good story, and when all was said and done, I couldn't really see much further after that.  I'd been looking for as much of a layback horn bull as I could find, and this one was beyond all that.  He was what Wes calls a "freak horn" .... and I figured that mant rare.  Turns out LBJ is not only Ranger's Ranch Hand grandson!  He has good muscling throughout, a dark red color with black brindling, and his disposition is superbly gentle and easy going.  We bred LBJ to the biggest bariety of bloodlines and horn shapes of any bull here, and are watching his first calf crop from Summer 2006 with delight.
